This was a tough one! I wanted you all to win. But congratulations Chrissy.
We’re huge fans of Peppa at VMHQ – kiddos and parents alike! She’s the little pink pig who goes on adventures, learns lessons, and has a ton of fun, all in five minutes – what’s not to love?
She’s been so useful to us on plane rides, when we drove around New Zealand for a week, as a distraction break from duo toddler tantrums (and fights!), on birthday cakes, and in books. We love the simple graphics, the cute messages, and the sneaky funny jokes.
The girls love the show, Abby loves to sing along to the theme song, and love naming all the members of the family like Peppa does. I also get called “Mummy Pig” occasionally, but it’s so hilariously cute. Pepper has just learned to say her name, and will point to Peppa in books and on TV with a little “be-ba!”, which is, of course, adorable.
I’m also grateful to Peppa Pig for allowing me a full five minutes (or sometimes 10!) to finish unloading the dishwasher in peace, or to fold the washing without two “helpers” redistributing the folded clothes to the floor.
Peppa Pig is loved by parents and kids for her mischievous sense of humour and the life lessons explored in a fun way. Check out www.peppapig.com.au and their Facebook page for printables (our favourite), event updates and products available in time for Christmas.
Peppa Pig is also a massive supporter of the Australian charity, Life’s Little Treasures Foundation. Over the coming year, Peppa Pig will be the brand ambassador for Life’s Little Treasures Foundation to raise funds that will support families with babies born prematurely or sick.
If you’ve got some Peppa-lovers in your house too, then leave a comment on this post answering the question “what do you love about Peppa Pig?”. You could win a Peppa Pig prize pack, consisting of a Peppa Pig Space Ship ($54.99), a Peppa Pig Push-Along Pram ($29.95), and a Peppa Pig Tote Bag ($14.95).
A winner will be chosen next Wednesday, December 18, at noon Queensland time. If we get in quick, your prize should arrive just in time for Christmas! (depending on Australia Post, of course). Australian residents only (sorry!), this is a game of skill, not chance. Winner will be notified via email and named on this post.
Good luck! I’d love to hear why you love Peppa too.
*disclaimer: we also got some pretty sweet Peppa Pig goodies too – the Deluxe Playhouse, a wheeled bag, and some clothes. yay!
Jackie @ Hippie Mumma says
What do i love about Peppa Pig? The fact that she lets me get 10 minutes of cooking/cleaning/resting done at a time! She memorizes my little one and I dash into the kitchen to wash up or prepare dinner… or pour a wine 😉
Skye Tiernan says
Oink! Oink! So what’s not to love about Peppa? She’s an adorable little piggy who’s cheeky, pink and has the coolest name ever – these three things are very important in my toddler’s eyes! We love her family and enjoy all their humorous adventures together!
Kerry L says
We’re taking a 3 hour plane trip with our almost 2 year old next week. I love Peppa Pig because she will give me a modicum of peace on that flight (plus I don’t mind watching a bit of Peppa Pig myself!) Everyone in this house is lovingly referred to as pig – Mummy pig, Daddy pig and Daisy pig!
Chrissy says
Not only is Mr3 a huge Peppa Pig fan, his parents are! We love that the show gently/fondly points out the absurdities of family life (the episode with Daddy pig at the top of the hill trying to start a bike race for the kids, Mumma pig working from home and finally letting George play 1 game on the computer only for Daddy pig and Peppa to walk in and comment ‘so that’s what you’ve been doing all day!), but points the absurdity out with fondness rather than being lewd, crude or banal (as some other shows are). So far we’ve avoided branded stuff with our kids but when we all enjoy the show so much that their language has entered ours (hello clever clogs!) and Mr 3’s Santa requests this year were a ‘giant robot and box of Peppa pig stuff…). Not sure whether Santa makes giant robots (although he does do Peppa Pig toothbrushes, crayons and a magazine). Mr 3 would be overjoyed with anything Peppa pig but the big stuff would be phenomenal for him. ‘Blah, blah blah’ perhaps it’s me who ‘talks too much!’
Ps love your blog! (From a fellow mum who’s trying to find that healthy, fun, sane, getting back to paid work etc balance)

I woke up this morning the sea was still there and so was the sky. The sea, the sky, the sea the sky, the sea the sky.
Can’t tell you how much I love this song. Peppa is queen bee in this house.
Beth Wieland says
We’re big fans of Peppa pig! I have to say my favourite charaters are Miss Rabbit (talk about being superrabbit – i love that she does nearly every job) and Grampy Rabbit “it’s better then real, it’s pretend!”. We often use Peppa on long car trips, when we have waited for an appt for an hour or more and definitely on plane trips – everyone is happy.
Olivia Costa says
At first I didn’t quite get the attraction to pepper pig, that is until I sat down and watched an episode with my daughter and son. It’s been written very well as the adult humour is a crack! Mummy and daddy pig clearly have the same issues as most married couples and the kids seem oblivious to this. I have spent many a night and day making peppers head in cake for little peoples birthdays and feel like pepper and I have an ‘understanding’. I bless pepper at around 5 when I have 2 whinging toddlers (and a screaming baby) wanting dinner and are under my feet or fighting! I hear from the lounge a scream of excitement and I know it’s pepper time. We also have the beauty of series linking and recording the episodes (much to my husbands annoyance when tries to record something adult and our hard drive is full of pepper). So once again thank you to the pink little pig and her wee brother keeping my 2 occupied and keeping my sanity in tact at those moments during the day when I think I’m about to loose the plot!
Elizabeth Susic says
I love that Peppa makes my 3 year old happy! I love the music, the stories and that it is harmless and non offensive. Everyone sings along at some point too 🙂 My d
aughter says Peppa is her best friend! LOVE 🙂
Brigette @ Patchwork Natural says
We love Peppa because she’s a cute little Pig and she has a family with marital issues that are made fun of in the same way that my husband and I make fun of the anomalies in our relationship. She doesn’t have some perfect made for tv family, it’s a bit more realistic than most tv shows. Not to mention her dress is the same as my daughters favourite one! and her brother loves Dinosaurs, which my girl is obsessed with.
Jenny Swift says
Miss 5: “I love that Peppa jumps in muddy puddles because it means that I can jump in muddy puddles too! So long as I wear my rainboots…”
Miss 3: “Peppa is good ’cause she’s funny and smiley”
Master almost 2: “Dinosaur… George… RAAAH!!!”
Me: “I love Peppa Pig because she saves my sanity by allowing 10 minutes of me-time daily, which is only interrupted by my three children’s uncontrollable giggling and horrifically noisy OINKING!”
Claire H Simmons says
she is exactly what a young child so be fun and fun loving, so kids adore her, i adore her
Shara Cameron says
I love Peppa Pig because all kids young and old like it, it’s a great show for boys and girls (which is rare), and they learn lots of stuff about life from it. When we travelled to New Zealand this year the kids knew what to expect at the airport and on the plane as it was just like Peppa!
Jen K says
I like that parents can also enjoy a good giggle (snort!) while the kids obviously LOOOOVE Peppa Pig. It’s all about the simple but oh-so-good pleasures and funny moments in the everyday. We all love it when they’re laughing so much they have to throw themselves on the ground. The Peppa Pig licensed books and toys are always really nice too, and a great investment as the kids return to them time and again over years.
marypreston says
Peppa Pig gives me hope for the future of entertainment. You can still be a star, even if you are a little “meaty” in the thighs.
Marie Biswell says
We love Pepper Pig too in our house! Joe loves her! He calls his dad, Daddy Pig too! And for Joe’s 3rd birthday this weekend, I have bought him a little Pepper Pig toy along with Miss Rabbit – cos she is the optimum of hard work she is! (I wish I had Miss Rabbit’s energy!!)
And a handy hint, buy the dvd – it gives you a chance to do the laundry, vacuuming & the washing up un-disturbed!
Marie Biswell says
Oh & I meant to say, when Joe saw this (he was leaning over my shoulder) the first thing he said was “I WUV Pepper Pig! – too cute!
Diana O says
That Peppa pig keeps the kids amused and out of my hair, so I can get things done!!! Personally I don’t see the appeal, it pains me to sit and watch this show!!! But if they’re happy, then I’m happy too 🙂
Elizabeth@thebackyardlemontree says
Your Peppa pig give away is very timely. I don’t whether you’re aware of the Piers Ackerman controversy, in one of Pier’s regular anti-ABC rants he accused Peppa pig of feeding weird subliminal feminist views to young vulnerable minds. #Peppapig has become something of a leftist feminist superhero on Twitter. Who would have thunk it!
Aimee Said says
That she gives me 5 minutes to go to the loo by myself as bub sits entranced in front of the TV!
kel412 says
I love Peppa Pig because she makes my daughter laugh and sing and I love the enjoyment she gets from Peppa Pig and her friends and family, although we have to avoid muddy puddles when they are around… 🙂
Tammy Clarke says
Peppa always has a great story to tell she really relates to my 6 yr old daughter she is glued to the tv when the show is on.
MotherDownUnder says
I love Peppa because she loves chocolate cake! And I love that she taught Toddler C that jumping up and down in muddy puddles is the most fun ever…because it really actually is!
Nina Downes says
I just love how much it projects a real family – although Mummy Pig doesn’t yell as much as in this house 🙂 Peppa and George reflect my 4 and 1/2 year old daughter and almost 3 year old son perfectly!
Jade says
I love how she ” peppers” her conversation with oinks. I’ve found myself doing it on occasion. Oink!
Money Mummy says
I love how there is something in it for the adults too! Daddy Pig often reminds me of my hubby! My favourite episode is when the nations of the world have a fight in the sand pit and Peppa asks do the nations of the world really behave like this? Yes they do!!!
Kasey Evans says
I love how Peppa Pig is a safe show for my 4 year old to watch with no violence or bad language. Oh and how could I forget her oinks 🙂
kate says
hughghghgh…. the way she makes the oink sound after every sentence. Just about.
So sweet…
Kim m says
I love Peppa Pig because I love what makes my daughter happy!

Daneyl Green says
I love Peppa because she makes my kids want to go outside and play. Even if it’s ‘jumping up and down in Muddy Puddles!!!!’
Karina Wong says
Peppa Pig teaches my child how to speak good english!
sonya says
I love how Peppa Pig encourages children to ‘jump in muddy puddles’ and get wet and dirty – it’s exactly what kids should be doing, not stuck indoors in front of an iPad and never getting fresh air!
Pia Hoelscher says
I love that Peppa Pig tells everyone how she is feeling! No beating around the raspberry bushes for this, Missy!
Lilybett and Boy says
I Love that my boy loves Peppa and George. I love the adult jokes built in that don’t have to be bawdy to be entertaining. I am a little befuddled though by the decisions of which creatures are sentient and which are pets or wild critters.
Jess says
I love that Peppa Pig tells it like it is. I was at the grandparents house & mummy pig dumped the kids on grandpa pig & drove off without getting out of the car! My step dad & I got a good laugh out of that!
Carolyn says
My little girls both love her to pieces and I love watching the show with them too! There is something for all ages to get a giggle out of an episode. Thanks to Peppa my littlest who wasn’t interested in books can now ‘read’ her Peppa Pig books and recite all the nursery rhymes in her Peppa Pig nursery rhyme book. I love that I can get some housework done in peace with the Peppa DVD on. Also I can basically get them do and try anything if I involve Peppa for example …here try some different vegetables, they are on a Peppa plate and Peppa loves them!!
The Plumbette says
I love Peppa because it’s the only show my 3 year old daughter will sit quietly and watch. My ten month old has taken to watching it too with her sister. I love that Daddy Pig is the stereotypical dad with dad jokes. Mummy Pig is sensible and George is the baby bro that needs to be included in everything. Explains the family dynamics in a fun way.
Roma says
We all love peppa pig, mummy pig, daddy pig and George in our house! Snorts all round, even from our own family’s daddy pig and gives mummy pig a chance to make dinner in peace;-)
Thouraya Battye says
I love how they jump in muddy puddles…and how the episodes have unexpected but true to life moments!
Bree @ Twinkle in the Eye says
Well Piers Ackerman called her a feminist archetype. What’s not to love about a little pig given that title? About the only good thing that man has ever said!
Amanda says
When my little niece watches Peppa she snorts in unison with the TV every time Peppa snorts and it leaves me in fits of giggles.
Jemma Henderson says
I don’t know a great deal about Peppa Pig, however, my god-daughter Delilah is crazy about it. She is forever saying “I’m a clever clogs!” and trumpeting her arm-trunk. I’d love to give her mum (my best friend) this pack to give to her daughter for Christmas. Delilah would be beside herself with happiness.
Helena says
I love the layers of humour in Peppa Pig. It’s direct for the kids, and subtle for the adults. Anyone who is a parent will chuckle when Peppa says, “Poor Daddy, has to go to work. Mummy gets to play with us ALL DAY long” 🙂
Lemonade girl says
I love Miss Rabbit. She’s so industrious and even won the prize for industry from the peppa pig land queen! My 2yo can even recognise that Miss Rabbit works everywhere and chuckles at the episode where she faints when she’s finally recognised for her hard work! If any peppa pig writers are listening it’s kinda funny that you do insert feminist left wing propaganda in there too. I regularly lol, but do get your act together with introducing single parent and same sex parent families into your storylines ASAP. Kids need to realise not everyone has a mummy and a daddy pig the way it is portrayed on the show.
Kerry Santillo says
My niece and nephew can relate to Peppa and her little brother George and the storylines
are simple to follow. The five minute episodes are also great for the
attention span of young children. Once in a while a character is created that you can’t help falling in love with, Peppa is a genuine friend ♥
elisha hayes says
I love the snort bit in the peppa pig song at the start of the show. Turns into a competition between my 2 and 1 yr old on who can do either the loudest and funniest. Bloody hilarious!.
Jade says
Oh I love the underhanded references to Daddy Pig’s weight! Teehee!
Angela says
For me, it’s the accents. Who wouldn’t like to have a teacher with a French accent like Madame Gazelle’s? Or have a bedtime story read by Daddy Pig in his plummy English. Best one is Dr Hamster (‘she’s loove-leh’). I’ve always wanted to live in the UK (one problem: Australian passport and no ancestry), so I can tolerate endless episodes of Peppa thanks to the glorious accents. Dora is another story…
sapna says
I love that peppa pig is just like normal kids who wants to have fun, sometimes does silly mistakes ,use silly words & have fun with everything thats available to her.
reflector1991 says
I love the elements of humour that make even me laugh. My son has even started calling us mummy pig and daddy pig and then he rolls around on the floor laughing.
Nicole Kent says
Jumping in muddy puddles
And her little brother George
She teaches my toddler lots of things
With some time I cant afford!
Michelle Gray says
A show which has my kids running from the other end of the house and keeps them quiet for more than 5 minutes at a time, I love Peppa Pig!
Karla Oleinikoff says
She keeps the kids quiet, entertained and lets me have 10 mins peace! I adore her and her friends.
Alisia Cameron says
I love Peppa Pig because Daddy Pig is hilarious! I can often be heard giggling along with my daughters at Daddy Pig’s antics! My oldest always calls me when Peppa Pig starts so I can come and watch with her.
“Don’t fall in the pond like you ALWAYS do Daddy Pig!”
“Daddy Pig, did you get us lost… AGAIN?!”
“Oh look, their tooting at us, I think they’re trying to say hello! *toot toot toot*”
Oh Daddy Pig!
sarah says
What is there not to love about Peppa Pig. My daughter olivia is 2.5 and just loves her. I love her because she makes Olivia so happy plus whilst controversial watching it at meal times helps Olivia eat:)
kookla123 says
Peppa’s Daddy is our choice
We love his deep, loud voice
He’s often lazy which can be fun
And he’s a great friend to everyone
He has a big round tummy, and glasses too
His jollyness means he’s seldom blue!
Renata Marchionna says
This would rock
oh how my daughter would jig
when she unwrapped the wonderful prize id won
the wonderful peppa pig!.
