Kitchen Notes 23.05.20

So I struggled to get my jeans on yesterday morning, and struggled to keep them on all day – they were the absolute most uncomfortable thing, heaven help them, because a. I love eating and b. i’ve hit that juncture of life where you sort of just start expanding sideways.

these two things do not mesh well together.

Do I eat differently now? buy new jeans? is this the new normal? what do I do here?!

anyway, denim woes aside, the kitchen has been (figuratively) on fire here as usual. I’m still in love with Korean food, which shows no sign of abating, and i’ve gone off in search of related deliciousness, which I’m wont to do. I love a flavour fixation. Give me all of the chilli/garlic/ginger/green onion combos in the land.

That being said, this is what’s been going down: bao buns, vegan spicy tan tan ramen, Smith and Deli’s corn congee, still loads of kimchi fried rice, noodles, paneer makhani, rosemary choc chip biscuits, Chrissy Teigen’s banana bread, make-ahead breakfast burritos (there’s plenty in the freezer now for school mornings and I’m stoked), cheese grits with an egg on for breakfast, minestrone soup, red curry, southern fried tofu, mushroom soup, hummus, zaatar-roasted pumpkin salad, marinated olives, confit fennel and pumpkin salad, Mexican-style corn, haloumi and kale slaw tacos, barbecue jackfruit “pulled pork”, cheese and potato pierogies, tortellini en brodo… I’m sure there’s more but I can’t remember! Also I’m hungry right now. And i’m supposed to be doing an assignment on Macbeth. I better go finish it.

Bone apple tea! I miss you all.
