Congrats Rant Casey! (although that condensed milk one was swaying me! oh man why has nobody done that before?!)
This morning the postman arrived bearing a delivery of the chocolate kind – and if you’re lucky they could be hitting up your place too!
My friends at Loving Earth have been busily working alongside the people at Round to design the brand-new packaging for their much-loved chocolate (and they stuck in a secret new flavour to boot! One I’m fully thumbs-up about). I loved the old packaging, but I love this new getup even more. So colour-blocked! Much modern.
And I’m not the only fan – apparently it’s been flying off shelves since it was released a few days ago, and as I was reading their newsletter this week I gave a mental high-five to Loving Earth founder Scott Fry for what he had to say: “It was about catching up with where the product was at – the chocolate has come through so much innovation and evolution but the actual packaging has just become more and more confusing … there’s a depth to it that’s not obvious at the start, but there’s this visual imagery that’s not just artistic but is symbolic – it tells a story. There’s a system there, everything serves a purpose, it’s functional – and I love that, how form is function. I think what we’ve got now is brilliant. I like the stripped-back feel, I like the feel of the board, I like the colours, the way it sits in different light and the three-dimensionality of it.”
That’s a man who’s pleased!
You can be pleased too, if these chocolates end up on your doorstep. When Loving Earth released a couple of new flavours earlier this year (shoutout to that mandarin and gubinge situation), I asked you to guess what you thought they might be – and some of you came up with the gnarliest flavour combos! So I’m going to ask you to come up with a great new chocolate flavour and the one that sounds the most delicious next Thursday June 18 at 5pm will be the winner!
In the meantime, there is a huge stocktake sale going on over at Loving Earth if you just can’t wait another minute for chocolate. For newsletter subscribers, they have 20% off all products at the moment, and a 35% discount on the stash of chocolates they still have with the former packaging. If you haven’t read your recent missive from them, hop to it and get the code. There’s free shipping on all orders over $50 for all.
Please enter by commenting below your chocolate combo and I’ll be in touch with the winner next week. Residents of Australia only (sorry!) and only one entry per person. Thank you kindly, and good luck!
Mine would have to be salted caramel crackle. Crunchy pieces of salted caramel with crispy puffed rice. Yum!!
Part of me would love to say condensed milk filled chocolate or dulche le leche chocolate but I’m thinking creamy coconut with a hint of mint….
Dark chocolate with Cointreau and roast almond would hit the spot nicely I think
So I got my hands on the most delicious smelling coconut candels then sat down to read your blog, I want chocolate that tastes the same way these candels smell. Coconut and condensed milk but really nutty. if that makes any sense at all… I’d be in chocolate heaven
I’d create good old peanut butter and chocolate, because that’s always a winning combo for my taste buds!
Okay, that sounds amazing!
I’d love to see a really different unique flavour like “Chocolate with Rosella Centre” – whether it be a jelly or a gooey centre. I love Rosella Jam, and I grew some for the first time this year and my mum and I made loads of jam. It was surprisingly easy, once we deciphered about 5 different recipes. What about a wicked Rosella or Strawberry and Cream Scone Chocolate. Chocolate with a strawberry or Rosella centre with a fine layer of creme or cream or vanilla layer at the bottom of the insides, all wrapped in a square of chocolate. YUM YUM!
Thought of another one. Banoffee. Banana, maple and nut caramel with a coconut cream. Slurp. Drools.
Sticky date. Chewy, moist Medjool dates (no mucking about here), in a pocket of creamy, sweet sauce, smothered in dark, smooth chocolate. Pillows of heaven. Ok. I’m drooling now.
Right, it absolutely has to be something with coffee in it, I adore coffee flavoured anything, coffee smelling anything…. So. Dark chocolate, not quite bitter but with a hint of it. Combined with chunks of dark roasted coffee beans, BUT the secret…… a dulche de leche filling…. so you have the dark, intense bitterness of the coffee, the smooth indulgent tang of the raw cacao dark chocolate that Loving Earth do SO well, and then a hit of smooth, creamy, SWEET, caramelised dulche de leche. Basically heaven in a mouthful. Not that I would be able to stop at just one mouthful. What should they call it? Dark Coffee de Leche?
Thanks for sharing the love Stacey! Can’t wait to hear all the creative chocolate ideas!
I’ve always wanted a pumpkin pie flavour! The earthiness of the pumpkin & of course the cinnamon & nutmeg. I’m not sure how well it’d sell in Australia since we’re not that into the old pumpkin pie here, but I’d do my best to keep them in business
Oh my goodness what a divine prize to win and also fun to be apart of! My idea would be a dirty chai dark chocolate flavour (a robust coffee with relaxing and invigorating flavours of chai then of course the benefits from the antioxidants of dark chocolate….)
I think I’m going to have to re-neg my original flavour combo since the mandarin is similar (totally getting some of that into my grill asap!) but I’m thinking a nice caramelly white chocolatey (similar to the LE caramel flavours) with strawberry & rosewater…maybe throw some macadamias in there! Yum!
Dark chocolate almond and orange.
Mm chocolate I’d make fig and crunchy toffee flavour!
Oooooh Lord, where do I start?!?! Well, mine would have to be Pistachio, Fig and Salted Caramel (cue Homer Simpson groan mmmmmmm….). How many flavours can I invent here? I can keep going if you like! 😉
Ah, to hell with it! Here’s another flavour: toasted pecans, salted caramel and coconut. There is definitely a theme here, I love my salted caramel!
Coconut & Lemon – like a lemon meringue pie perhaps?! I love anything nutty or coconutty…yumo!
Quince, vanilla bean and almond. Served up with a hunk of Brie. Because everything tastes better with cheese.
It would need macadamias in it. Banana Salted Caramel Macadamia!
I would suggest dark chocolate, coconut and orange – but I know that you hate the Jaffa flavour combo {so it wouldn’t win}. So how about dark chocolate, pecans, dried pear and apricot.
Lightly roasted pecan, maple and just a touch of cinnamon. Dont forget the lashings of fresh whipped cream. Im picturing a top deck pecan pie…mmm…or chocolate mousse with a hint of chilli.
I like honeycomb pieces with salted caramel gooey bits in dark chocolate. ! Or in light of your recent facebook post… Black Jelly Bean?
I like that loving Earth isn’t too sweet. That slight bitter taste always takes me back to when I first tried a chocolate covered coffee bean. I don’t even drink coffee, but wow, what a sensational situation that was.
I think if they did a rough grind of a fair trade coffee bean (so there was still a crunchy type texture) along with the smoothness of their already perfected chocolate, it’d be something even us tea-totallers would ring home about!
What about a Wasabi Ginger Combo?
http://MyBlissfulJourney.com
I’d love to try any of their flavors – they sound amazing! How many of them are vegan?
They’re all vegan 🙂
Bailey’s cheesecake flavour with real biscuit bits
Creme caramel flavour with praline bits
Milk choc, hazelnut with coconut and cranberry pieces swirled through
I’d be all over a strawberry with sweet balsamic reduction in dark chocolate. I think it’s a strange but surprisingly awesome combination
Dark chocolate, maple pecan and sticky caramelised balsamic
Apple, date, and Walnut in milk chocolate. Thanks Stacey.
Fig & raspberry chia jam chocolate 🙂 mmmm
Yum
Salted chocolate crackle, with bits of praline, macadamia and caramel. I’m already drooling …
70% with pink murray river salt.. mm
Dark Crystalised Ginger Chocolate
Here’s my third suggestion (haha – clearly I take my chocolate very seriously!) It’s Pecan, Fig and Maple. I’ve had some time to think about it and I really love those combos 🙂
Oh, and Lemon, Mascarpone and Raspberries. Love those flavours too!
I will have the dark chocolate, peanut butter with coconut shavings, a hint of chilli and toasted almonds, thanks!
Rose and vanilla caramel.
goji berries and dark chocolate. Simple and yum
Lavender, Rosemary and sea salt. 🙂
rosella (wild hibiscus) and ginger in a dark – YUM!
Burnt fig, honeycomb and caramel….delicious! Yum chocolate!!
I really can’t go past Peanut Butter Chocolate – an oldie but a goodie!
What about a chai chocolate with delicate hints of cinnamon, cardamom and honey! Just perfect on those cooler winter evenings in front of the fire ✨
The classic strawberries and chocolate!!! Yummy!
Cranberry and pistachio.
in terms of Loving Earth, I’d love to see sea salt and lime, or lime and chili. Or a cherry and rosewater. Mmm….I could go on forever!
I love mint, so my new creation would be… Coffee, caramel and mint flavoured chocolate! Hows that? Yum xx
They already do a mint one! it’s soooo gooood!
Oooh it’d have to be a citrus combo, like a lemon, lime and mandarin in a dark chocolate! Some nuts thrown in for crunch too, macadamias would be lovely and a real luxury! Yummy 🙂
Choc Vegemite! Just kidding! Chocolate coconut has to be one of the best chocolate combos so I’m goong with that!
Matcha Green Tea Dark Chocolate, and/or Red Bean Paste Dark Chocolate!
