Easter this year was spent down on the Mornington Peninsula, where we were rewarded with warm, sunny days and endless blue skies.
It was a really nice few days full of beach walks, endless fooooood, and seeing the sights.
Which honestly, are pretty spectacular.
We took in London Bridge, Flinders Blowhole, Arthur’s Seat, Cape Shanck, Pebble Beach, and the Rosebud Foreshore.
We ate: platters, pizza, full english breakfasts, vegetarian lasagne, hot cross buns, nachos and an avocado/coriander/tomatoe salad, so much marinated Yarra Valley Feta, a Strawberry Shortcake I made for a special birthday, and this roast pumpkin thingo that Baby Mac and her family do on occasion.
The kids ate loads of easter eggs, and had the obligatory Sunday morning hunt, but I can only eat them if they are a certain brand, and have been chilling in the freezer. I have very specific Egg habits and they are not to be messed with. I can’t be dealing with room-temperature aldi eggs, I can tell you that right now.
I can’t tell you how much I love this rugged shipwreck coastline with its huge waves and caves and cliffs for days. There’s so much to see and it’s all so breathtaking.
There’s nothing better than a little getaway, and while I didn’t sleep much and left there so damn exhausted, I loved every minute of it.
The hotspots were pretty packed as you’d imagine for the Easter weekend (and the shops were chaos) but actually still doable and well worth it.
Can’t quite believe it’s over for another year!
